An Adventurous Romp Through Life

Robert has been many things in his life, but he began as a teacher. Although he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in mathematics and physics from Harding University, he went on to obtain graduate degrees in theatre and theatre history all the way up to the doctoral level at UCLA.

Theater is, of course, a performing art and Robert has performed as a director, actor, singer and scene designer. He first performed with the USO in the Far East and then pursued a career teaching theater in colleges and Universities, eventually becoming Asst. Professor and Director of Theater at Pepperdine University in Malibu, California.

Circumstances took an unexpected turn and Robert entered the film industry, becoming Director of Development and Story Editor for several major motion pictures, including Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.

Robert grew up in Indianapolis where he played football and enjoyed annual trips to the time trials for the Indy 500.
Rob lives with his wife, Helen, just outside of Los Angeles. He is active in local music and dramatic performances, frequently appearing as a Master of Ceremonies for classical concerts in the community and as an actor with regional theater companies.

When he was a child, Robert had a dream of building a space ship in a tree like the one in his trilogy, The Star-Fighters of Murphy Street.

Robert has 3 sons. When they were very young he started to build a tree house for them in a large maple tree in their back yard.

But it wasn’t shaped like a space ship. Technically speaking, it was more of a tree ship than a tree house, because it was built to look like a sailing ship. The tree leaves formed the sails and every summer his boys flew over the neighborhood, cannons firing at every pirate in sight.
